Remanufacturing of Engines and Metal Component Parts
Wellmade, founded in 1988 by its Chairman & CEO Mr. Philip N. Tan, started as a trading company selling automotive and truck spare parts. Two years later, it expanded into the remanufacturing and overhauling of automotive and truck engines expertly undertaken by 8 competent staff and certified mechanics. As the volume exceeded its original capacity within four years time, the company saw the need to have its own workshop/machine shop.
After a year’s planning, it was in 1995 that its INNOVATIVE PRECISION ENGINEERING workshop was launched to the public. The biggest and most modern outside Metro Manila, it takes pride to be associated with the world’s best precision machine manufacturers from United States, Italy, Switzerland, and Japan. Engine component parts are machined to the specifications and within close tolerances specified by manufacturers such as MTU Germany, an affiliated company of Mercedes Benz, in machining their engine component parts for high speed fast craft engines.

An authorized user and distributor of CLIMAX Portable Machines (Made in U.S.A.), Wellmade is the first to commercially invest in acquiring two sets of BB1149 precision boring machines and KM65 Precision Key-milling machine. To complement the need to dismantle hydraulic-fitted parts, we can immediately send our experience technical staff to conduct ALIGNMENT, PRESS-OUT/PRESS-IN of parts using 2 units of our 100 tons portable hydraulic puller/aligner.
The latest to be added to our full line of on-site/in-place machines for marine and power plant application is the CHRIS-MARINE Valve Seat Grinding Machine (MSD model) designed for precise alignment, seat roundness and concentricity of valve seats and grinding of hard and tenacious alloys. This machine can also be used for grinding of valve cage sealing surface against cylinder cover. By strictly complying to engine manufacturer's specification, this process would result to savings, cutting the usual standard process by more than 50% early completion.

HOT/COLD Fusion Welding Technology

With the advent of modern welding technologies and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Wellmade have invested millions in purchasing modern precision welding machines ranging from AC/DC arc welding, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), POWDER, and WIRE spray processes. As an active corporate member of the Philippine Welding Society (PWS) and Philippine Society for Non-destructive Testing (PSNT), our welders and welding inspectors are independently certified as qualified users and QC inspectors using the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as our standards.
Welding without using heat, such as our “Lock-N-Stitch” technology, has proven a high degree of effectiveness in restoring cracks on cast-iron and aluminum materials that may not be possible through hot process.
